Ego vs Alter ego

According to the Latin dictionary, "ego" means self. The first part of this photo series represents how the "self" wants to be seen or how the "self" is seen in reality. I think, not only I could relate when I say that we are groomed to be "good" individuals (referring to a person who does not break the rules and do behave). The "ego" of a person must be good at all times because that is how society wants us to be - a person who is "pure". The pastel-themed photos showcase sweet and subtle emotions of the models' "ego". The lightness of the photos help suggest openness, at the same time, dreamlike perception of the "self". The "alter ego" represents the other side of the "self". The second half of the photo series showcases a darker, more personal and mysterious side of the "self". This side tends to be hidden because you might think that your alter ego might be against the conformities of the society.
